Mexico Manufacturing Rises at Fastest Pace in 2 Years
Mexico’s manufacturing output expanded at the fastest pace in more than two years in March, boosting industrial production as consumer confidence and exports increased.
Factory output climbed 6.8 percent from a year earlier, the national statistics institute said on its website today, more than the 5.5 percent median estimate of 13 economists surveyed by Bloomberg. Industrial activity increased 3.4 percent, more than the 3.2 percent median forecast.
Mexico’s peso was little changed at 12.9422 per U.S. dollar at 8:17 a.m. in Mexico City.
